Kurt Steinhaus is the deputy cabinet secretary of education, Office of the Governor, New Mexico, which recently launched a statewide one-to-one computing initiative beginning with seventh-grade students. Steinhaus is also president of the International Society for Technology in Education. He holds two master’s degrees—one in music and one in computer science—and a doctorate degree in educational leadership and organizational learning. Una Daly has been the technology coordinator at Christa McAuliffe K-8 School in Saratoga, Calif., for the last five years. Daly has written several articles on the use of wireless computers in the classroom. Previously, she worked as a software manager and engineer specializing in computer networking at Apple Computer and 3Com. Clayton Wilcox is the superintendent of schools in Pinellas County, Fla., which serves 115,000 students. Wilcox has taught in classrooms ranging from elementary school to graduate school and held administrative positions in Florida, Iowa and Louisiana.Bernard Percy is the former editor in chief of Converge Magazine, an education and technology magazine, and the author of seven books, including Recapturing Technology for Education: Keeping Tomorrow in Today’s Classrooms, which he co-authored with Mark Gura. Mark Gura, a former director of the Office of Instructional Technology of the New York City Board of Education, currently works with Fordham University’s Regional Educational Technology Center. Gura has more than 30 years of experience as an educator. |
